- 4-day event in early June
- Live entertainment, food pairings and information series
Overview: For over 25 years celebrated chefs, wineries, and sommeliers have gathered in Telluride to instruct, mingle, and even learn something new for themselves. Between cooking demonstrations, winemaker luncheons and dinners there is plenty to do, and that does not even include the numerous seminars.
Where: The demonstrations take place at various locations throughout Telluride. Check the schedule for specific events.
Cost: Passes can be purchased for the entire festival as well as individual passes for specific events.
Details: Whether you want to learn about a specific wine region, new methods of production, or how to pair a wine with certain foods, you will not be disappointed by the plenitude of seminars offered at the Telluride Wine Festival. Even experts can expand their knowledge of fine food and wine, but if you are fairly new to this world, you will enjoy the laid back, unpretentious atmosphere.
The festival begins with the opening night celebration where the steady flow of delicious food and carefully selected wine begins. The following day starts off early with seminars and continues with a luncheon. After some more informative seminars, the end of the evening is celebrated with a scotch and cigar tasting; a wonderful way to end the first full day. Saturday offers yet more wonderful tastings and workshops and is highlighted by a grand dinner and wine auction, benefiting several local charities. The next morning a gourmet brunch is served as it is time to say farewell to your new friends and beautiful surroundings.
