- The first weekend in June
- For for everyone
Overview: The colorful balloons float above the town in an awe-inspiring fleet. The Rally is fun for all ages, as some of the balloons remain tethered to the ground so kids can climb aboard.
Where: The Telluride Hot Air Balloon Festival begins Saturday and Sunday mornings from Town Park.
Cost: The event is free for spectators.
Details: There are new balloons that have been added in recent years such as Bumby, a duck head, a squirrel and Tweety Bird.
From the air, the hot air balloons land on Main Street (wind permitting) for the nightly balloon glow. The balloon glow kicks off at sundown with the balloons fully illuminated. The balloon flicker follows in which the street becomes a wave of light.
